Fema'le sighs. "Fine!" she thinks to herself. "I'll break his other arm."
'Am I forgetting something?' she thinks to herself as she begins walking up the steps. No, it was too warm for a jacket when she left even though now it would be nice to have one. It's late.
Those early morning workouts show in the little jump in her step as she climbs the 19 steps to the front door. She has the key ready in her hand but she knocks anyway. She likes it when he opens the door for her - Chivalry and all that stuff. He opens the door.
She is taken by surprise for a moment by the darkness of the room. He must have turned the lights off on purpose she thinks as she quickly notices the neighbor's lights are still on. It was while she was absorbing this that she missed him quickly retreat to the center of the room.
Her eyes next fell upon the candle. It wasn't a real candle, but one of those LED candles that flickered as if it was real. She had forgotten how romantic those candles looked in a dark room. They hadn't needed or taken the time to turn one on for quite a while.
There he sat, in the center of the room. He smiled with tender lips and said "John & I are online playing multiplayer Goldeneye on the Wii, it's really fun."
It was then she remembered how he had mentioned that there was a glare on the screen last time he played - accounting for why all the lights were off. The candle had been strategically placed beside a glass of sweet tea, no doubt to ensure it's safety.
She watched him play until her eyes grew tired. Then, she went to bed. There she lay in her superhero pajama pants thinking about how she really loved what it had come to.
